Maggie Jean Studio

Growing up I was always hopping from one project to the next-

*cutting, gluing, taking apart, rearranging and putting back together*

My parents set up my first studio space in the living room-

A little table by a huge window

Apparently >out of complete necessity<

You see-I was always making someone, something. Hoping to surprise them.

Clocking many childhood hours outside

Surrounded by sisters, and cousins

*digging, catching and building, pretending and creating* 

Cuts and bruises and rarely shoes

It instilled an energy and curiosity about the world.

::like most:: I scooped up my share of grief and heartbreak-

But it was returning to creating with words, paintings and a lot of garden dirt

That helped mend my heart.

Currently I am living on a farm in east central Indiana with my husband and daughter. Surrounded by my gardens and animals.

Painting, writing and making surprises for others.
