A Potbelly Pig

Oh my goodness

Let me tell you a story I heard today,

.

Pulling out her sock purse of coins

Buying $1.50 discount chickens

Realizing she can buy-

*Excuse me-“rescue”-*

One

No- two!

-Wait a minute-

THREE more chickens!

Pulling her cart to the side and skipping back for more.

Don’t worry she will tell me more.

.

She has also rescued

A potbelly pig

Tipping the scales well over 300lbs

And suffering from fat blindness.

“Fat blindness?” I ask before realizing the words rolling out of my mouth.

Yep!

She already had a photo up and ready to show off

And it is living in her house!

Along with cats and dogs

Squirrels and raccoons

Hedgehogs and skunks

.

An animal rescue

Started during Covid

-Of course-

.

Even better

She is babysitting later this month

For a family with their own

-He has it even better-

A room all to himself

Spotless, classy decor

He loves his apple in the morning-

A noon salad with ranch dressing-

A nightly ice cream sandwich,

As he watches Nickelodeon.

Never having to share the remote.

He has it good.

.

Only one of the stories shared with me during a shift

Standing at a register

In a farm store in the Midwest.

She has no idea-

How she made my day.
