I would never have the guts to tell this one out loud

-So lean in-

It’s a good one.

.

Let me first set the scene for you-

.

A 20 year retired military sergeant-

Started working at our little farm store in the middle of Indiana.

His aura carrying every stereotypical trait

Of a man in his previous profession-

Both refreshingly positive

As well as jarringly negative to our laid back culture.

:Let’s be blunt:

At first -he clashed with everyone-

.

Walking laps around the store

His 6”+ frame makes one stride a jog for most

Moving with a purpose

e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e

We are well aware he could be anywhere at anytime

With the expectation that you will keep up.

He likes things done a certain way-

In a certain order, at a certain time-

And he doesn’t mind one bit getting into your face and making you drop down and give him 20 push ups.

-You can only imagine-

It took us all a hot moment.

.

-Here is where it gets good-

He happened to enter this story about the same time as the Manager Assistance Button was added as an option on the cash register home screen.

One tap and it calls the manager on duty to head up to you.

:So:

-oh wait for it-

Standing at the register in the front of the store,

We found great enjoyment in-

Waiting until >just< the right moment-

As he rounded the corner-

pushing through the big red doors with >gusto< at the rear of the store.

Our stopwatch in one hand,

hitting the help button with the other hand.

:wow:

His agility to turn mid air 180

At such a high speed

And just as impressive

!with repetition he steadily shaved time!

Giving us less than a fraction of time

To formulate a convincing question for him when he made it back to the front of the store

.

To be fair,

I learned about this game from someone else

And only played it once

-well-

Maybe twice

.

But it earned our manager the nickname

Timmy Toes

Of which he embraced

And >slowly< began to integrated into our world.
