-O-P-E-N-

Me

Flying in to my self assigned parking spot

Set at the end of the lot

Giving customers extra room to pull in and turn around

-O-P-E-N-

Already flashing one letter at a time

Having hand washed my shirt in the camper sink,

I had underestimated the number of clothing changes needed for a week at the fair.

Underestimating drying time too

Convincing myself jetting in might help air dry my shirt, I picked up the pace

My arms cocked like a rooster driving competition out

Hoping to manually force air to start circulating.

-But it is July-

If only the air held a little less humidity

It might have worked.

.

Tying my red apron strings

Typing in my register number and password

The first customer wheeling around the corner with a bag of shavings

I bet we sell a TON of shavings today

Probably the hot item of the week

Placing my bet,

Sometimes guessing correctly

A game I play every shift

Entertaining myself every week for almost a year

I still find this job so-

Interesting
